TON Space’s much-anticipated self-custody Wallet app will officially go live on Telegram in November, according to Halil Mirakhmed, the COO of Wallet in Telegram.
Wallet is a TON-based application in Telegram Messenger that allows users to store, send, and exchange cryptocurrency assets within the messaging platform.
After successful beta testing, announced on August 9 , the Wallet app is now poised to launch officially on the mainnet.
November Launch
Mirakhmed broke the news of the November launch while speaking at the Digital Assets: Financial Sector Issues and the Next Wave of Adoption for Payments panel discussion in the ongoing Blockchain Life 2023 summit in Dubai.
Wallet’s move to deploy the product on Telegram can be heralded as a strategic move to potentially bring the digital assets concept to the mainstream arena, given that the messaging platform has a vibrant, thriving community of 800 million active users.
Starting next month, the Wallet app will be available to Telegram’s global users as an extension of the existing custodial version of the Telegram wallet.
Wallet has excluded certain territories, such as the U.S., thanks to the jurisdiction’s vicious crypto crackdowns that have prompted many digital assets applications to geofence users from the market.
