Helium community proposes to create an ENERGY subnet
On July 3rd, the Helium Foundation posted on social media that the Helium community is discussing a new proposal called HIP128. The proposal suggests creating an ENERGY subnetwork that rewards users for participating in the energy market through solar power generation and battery storage.
This subnetwork will support the integration and reward of distributed energy resources (DERs), allowing household users to contribute to grid stability and receive rewards. Its main advantages include dual mining (existing Helium hotspots can simultaneously receive IOT and ENERGY rewards), increased network activity and data credit consumption, entry into the renewable energy field, and promotion of green energy practices.
