Bitfarms to hold special shareholder meeting on October 29 to vote on reorganizing the board of directors in response to Riot's acquisition attempt
Bitcoin mining company Bitfarms has officially confirmed that it will hold a special shareholders meeting on October 29, 2024, in response to a meeting request made by Riot Platforms on June 24. Bitfarms announced on Friday that all shareholders registered as of the record date on September 26, 2024, have the right to vote, but no further action is required at this time. Bitfarms stated that a special committee composed of independent directors of the board, with the assistance of financial and legal advisors, has reviewed the meeting request and unanimously determined the meeting and record date.
