Beeple Unveils The 4th Edition Of His Heaven + Hell NFT Artwork
In an October 11 blog post, the internationally acclaimed digital artist Beeple confirmed that he has successfully sold the fourth edition of his Heaven + Hell non-fungible token collection to Kanbas. Beeple launched his first Heaven + Hell NFT collection in March 2023 and has been advancing it over time. However, he has failed to disclose the amount of funds he has made from his latest NFT collection.
Beeple is a renowned American digital artist, graphic designer, and animator known for selling non-fungible token collections. In his artistry, Beeple uses various media to create comical, phantasmagoric works that make political and social commentary while using pop culture figures as references. Beeple jumped into the crypto market in 2018 but stayed passive until early 2020, when he started learning about the then-newly launched NFTs.
Fast forward to late 2020, the NFT artist Beeple tokenized his “Everydays: The First 5000 Days” as an NFT collection, which later gained massive value and sold for nearly $70 million. Since then, Beeple, known for his groundbreaking NFT art, has launched some of the most costly NFT collections such as Mother of Evolution, Human One, a kinetic 3-D video sculpture, Pilgrimage, Spring/Summer Collection 2021, Genesis NFT Collection, All Hail The King Collection, Everydays: Group Effort by Beeple Collection, Time The Future of Business Super Rare, Beeple // Everydays: The Rebirth of Godzilla and many more NFT collections.
Beeple Heaven + Hell 4th Edition NFT Collection Overview
Beeple has launched the fourth edition of his Heaven+ Hell NFT collection using generative AI. To make this work more unique, Beeple has employed open-source models trained on millions of historic depictions of heaven and hell. In this way, the artwork represents the median human understanding of these complex abstract concepts. The NFT artwork features dual rotating boxes that reflect the polar opposites of these ideas.
The Heaven + Hell art collection is a kinetic sculpture comprising 8 screens and an accompanying NFT. This NFT art collection showcases Beeple’s mastery of creating complex, immersive works that exist both digitally and physically. Its screens display AI-generated imagery that evolves over time, referencing the themes of good and evil in art history, drawing inspiration from artists like William Blake and Hieronymus Bosch. This is the first time Beeple has used AI to create art.
