Possibly soon in Suriname (country in South America) Bitcoin will also be legalized, as happened earlier in El Salvador. However, there is one nuance - this will happen if presidential candidate Mayi Parbhow wins.

During an appearance on THE podcast Bitcoin Podcast she stated that legalization of Bitcoin could be done in one day by one executive order, immediately after the inauguration.

At the same time, she stipulated that full-scale integration and replacement of the Surinamese dollar with Bitcoin It may take some time and require a well-thought-out strategy for introducing the first cryptocurrency.

According to Parbhow, a transition committee is already in place, which includes international experts who should help completely abandon the Surinamese dollar in favor of Bitcoin.

It should be noted that the candidate for the presidency of Suriname believes that Bitcoin will allow the country to reduce its dependence on IMF loans, and with its help it will be possible to issue Bitcoin -bonds, using the proceeds from them to pay off the government debt.

During the podcast, the politician said that the government is completely incompetent and the president is on vacation at resorts. So, if Parbhow wins, then maybe Bitcoin will indeed replace the Surinamese dollar.
