Fed's Balance Sheet Falls Below $7 Trillion Mark
The total size of the Fed's balance sheet fell back below $7 trillion for the first time since August 2020, meaning that the Fed's current round of tapering has been carried out for about $2 trillion. The Fed previously said in its latest statement, maintaining the scale of the drawdown unchanged, that is, a monthly reduction of $25 billion in U.S. debt and $35 billion in MBS.
