Brazil's national data protection agency is monitoring World's activities in the country
the Brazilian National Data Protection Agency (ANPD) has issued a notice stating that it is actively monitoring the activities of World (formerly Worldcoin) in Brazil. Due to the risks associated with handling biometric data, the agency has requested information on the tasks performed by the company and has launched an investigation into the company's internal operations and the whereabouts of private biometric identification data. World began operating in Brazil in November last year and claims to have more than 150,000 people participating in the project.
