Lido Joint Creation clarifies: The "second foundation" of Ethereum has not yet been established
According to The Block, in response to rumors that the Ethereum Foundation will spin off a new organization called "The Second Foundation", Konstantin Lomashuk, co-founder of the liquid staking protocol Lido, issued a statement saying: "In fact, The Second Foundation has not yet been established." He continued writing: "Ethereum is the ultimate world computer and every Ethereum enthusiast can help it grow, evolve and succeed. If The Second Foundation really gets established, it must have a clear goal to supplement the great work of current contributors. I appreciate everyone's support and believe we need more organizations contributing to Ethereum."
Lomashuk's statement was made after he participated in posts related to "The Second Foundation," leading some people to think he was behind this new organization. Given strong community reactions, some people think that “The Second Foundation” may be related to the “major transformation” promised by Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin for the Ethereum foundation.
Previously on January 18th , Vitalik stated that after criticism for lack of participation in the Ethereum ecosystem by its foundation there would be major changes regarding leadership structure within said foundation as well as communication with network developers and their support.
