According to Cryptopolitan, four officers from the Central Crime Branch in Bangalore, India are under investigation for allegedly tampering with evidence of encrypted assets.
These assets come from the criminal proceeds of international hacker Srikrishna Ramesh. The Special Investigation Team (SIT) found that after arresting Sriki in 2020, the officers illegally used his crypto wallet and transferred Bitcoin through private network experts.
Currently, related investigations are still ongoing and may involve more extensive corrupt practices.
