Poll: More than 60% of respondents expect the U.S. economy to deteriorate in the short term due to tariff hikes
CBS and Opinion Research recently conducted a joint poll. The results of the poll show from a number of perspectives, the U.S. public is becoming more and more dissatisfied with the policy of imposing tariffs, at the same time, the U.S. economic situation is becoming more and more optimistic. The results show that 75% of the respondents expect that the U.S. government's policy of imposing tariffs will cause prices in the U.S. to rise in the short term. In the long term, 48% of respondents believe that the tariffs will make the U.S. prices rise. The poll also showed that 65% of respondents expect the U.S. economy to worsen in the short term as a result of the tariff hikes. In addition, the poll also reflects that the American public's confidence in the U.S. economy is declining.
