How to Recover Your Bitget Account After Losing Access?

This article explains how to use Bitget self-service portal to recover your account if you’ve lost access to your email, phone number, or Google Authenticator. You should use the account recovery process if you can’t complete two-factor authentication (2FA), have forgotten your security credentials, or no longer have access to one or more of your verification methods.

Things to note before you start

  • This account recovery process is for users who forgot their verification methods and can no longer access their account.

  • If you’re recovering two or more methods, a live verification or live video verification may be required.

  • Withdrawals and other functions will be disabled for 24 hours once recovery is completed.

How to recover your Bitget account

Step 1: Start the self-service recovery

For Bitget Website:

1. Tap the Customer Support Icon in the bottom-right corner.

2. Find Self-service and locate the Account section.

3. Select Account recovery.

1. Tap the Customer Support Icon at the top-right corner.

2. Find Self-service and locate the Account section.

Step 2: Choose the verification method(s) to recover

1. Enter your Registered Email Address or Mobile Phone Number.

2. Select which method(s) you’ve lost access to:

  • Email

  • Phone number

  • Google Authenticator

3. You can choose one or multiple options.

4. If you select two or more, a live verification or live video verification may be required.

Note: Recovery may take longer if video verification is needed.

Step 3: Confirm your account details

1. Fill in the account-related questions, including your last login and reason for application.

2. Press Continue after completing the form.

Step 4: Submit verification documents

1. Upload your deposit record (if any).

  • Deposit records must be submitted as videos only.

  • Only MP4 video files up to 20MB are supported.

2. Upload your identification documents (front and back of your ID or passport).

3. Upload your selfie holding the ID.

Note: Image uploads must be JPG, PNG, or JPEG and under 2MB

Step 5: Wait for review

  • Once submitted, our team will verify your request.

  • You’ll receive a notification once there’s an update.

FAQs

1. What if I lost all verification methods?

You can select multiple methods to recover (email, phone, or GA). If two or more are selected, you’ll need to complete a video verification for security.

2. How long does recovery take?

Most cases are reviewed within a 1 business days. If video verification is required, processing may take 3-5 business days depending on your submitted information.

3. Why are withdrawals disabled after recovery?

To protect your assets, withdrawals and other sensitive features will be temporarily disabled for 24 hours once your recovery is completed.

4. Will I be notified after my account recovery is successful?

Yes. You’ll receive a notification once your recovery request has been reviewed and completed. If you don’t receive any update for a while, please contact our customer support team for assistance.

5. What if I no longer have a deposit record?

If you don’t have a deposit record, you can still continue with the process by skipping that step and completing the remaining verification. Please note that your request will still be subject to approval.

Providing accurate information and clear video verification will help speed up the review. However, the review timeline depends on the case complexity.

7. Will my trading or assets be affected?

Your assets remain safe during the recovery process. Certain features such as withdrawal and P2P trading will be temporarily restricted during the recovery and the 24-hour security lock period that follows.
